The magic in my story is heavily based on the magic found and used in Dungeons and Dragons. The magic in DnD is separated into a handful of schools, which describe what the magic is used for, for example, Divination is magic based on seeing the unseen, whether seeing past someone's invisability or seeing events in the future.
As described in my previous "Raven's Notes" about Magic, the magic in my story is more physical and based on blood (Think of it a bit like Mana). The level of Magic "Skill" a person is born with depends entirely on their Blood:Magic Ratio. The more magic in the blood, the more power the person is able to use. Just as a car needs gas to run, a person needs magic to cast spells. Because of how easily magic is passed through the blood, Magic can even be transferred from person to person via blood transfusion. Because of this, the Government in my story felt the need to keep records of the Magic-Blooded and their families. Anti-Magic Lobbyists aim to prevent people of a certain Blood:Magic ratio to reproduce entirely.
